Sheridan Morley play "Noël and Gertie", about Noël Coward and Gertrude Lawrence, opened in London in 1983, starring Simon Cadell and Joanna Lumley, and ran for nine years. It was performed in the US with Twiggy in the lead role. In truth, their spectacular careers included only four appearances as co-stars. But in Sheridan Morley's reworking of his own revue (he has also written a biography of each), they can sparkle in ''Blithe Spirit,'' which they played separately but not together, although Coward created Elvira for Lawrence.
